EXECUTIVE ORDER -- ACCELERATING INVESTMENT IN INDUSTRIAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY

This morning, on August 30, 2012, President Obama signed an Executive Order calling for action in the deployment of 40 gigawatts of new, cost-effective industrial Combined Heat and Power (CHP) capacity in the United States by 2020. For more details, we urge you to read the Executive Order.

The International District Energy Association (IDEA) applauds the White House for supporting greater penetration of industrial CHP as a means to increase national energy efficiency, catalyze U.S. manufacturing and reduce U.S. energy intensity. CHP is a proven technology that is fuel flexible, enhances grid stability and cuts emissions while supporting economic growth. For more information, visit www.districtenergy.org.
