Company Expands Unique Expertise at GM Plants in Michigan

Detroit, Mich. (September 6, 2011) – Hamtramck Energy Services (HES) today announced receipt of a multi-year contract from General Motors (GM) for the operation of two GM wastewater treatment facilities in Flint, MI and Saginaw, MI. The contract follows the award earlier this year of three other GM powerhouse and wastewater treatment facilities in Michigan and Texas.

As one of GM’s preferred vendors for powerhouse and wastewater services, HES delivers expert, cost-effective management, operations, maintenance, and environmental compliance for these facilities. This contract meets a growing demand at GM and other manufacturers for expert, day-to-day powerhouse and wastewater treatment operations outsourced to highly qualified private contractors.

According to Rob Threlkeld, Manager of Supply Contracts at General Motors, “Our assembly plants depend on reliable energy supply and state-of-the-art wastewater treatment services. Hamtramck Energy Services helps us remain both sustainable and competitive in these areas.”

HES now provides third-party expertise in managing and staffing GM powerhouses at six locations in Michigan, Louisiana, and Texas.

“We are delighted to strengthen and broaden our collaboration with GM on these essential infrastructure services and bring new energy and environmental efficiencies to more GM facilities,” said Richard Pucak, President of Hamtramck Energy Services. Mr. Pucak also announced that HES has hired Joe Jones as a Project Coordinator to expand the HES business into other manufacturing sectors. Mr. Jones brings HES more than 30 years of experience in powerhouse and wastewater plant operations, serving the auto industry, health care facilities, and municipalities.
